YCG Stars On The Rise: Isabella Williams Spreading Positive Vibes Through Music

From dazzling stage performances to ingenious inventions and awe-inspiring artistic creations, the Caribbean teems with youthful promise and potential. In the coming weeks, we will introduce you to some of the awe-inspiring children on the brink of stardom, children whose talents and boundless creativity have already captivated audiences far and wide.

First up is Isabela Williams. Known more widely by her moniker, Wisabella, the 14-year-old student of ASJA Girls College is a singer/songwriter, actress and model. She’s already released six singles to great acclaim and has no intentions of stopping anytime soon.

YCG wanted to know a bit more about the girl behind the music and she kindly agreed to answer our questions. Here’s what she had to say…

YCG: How and when did your musical career begin?

WISABELLA: My music career began when I was six years old, my parents decided to take me to professional training as they saw my love for music and that’s where my musical journey started.

YCG: What do you love most about what you do?

WISABELLA: I love all the aspects of what I do, but most importantly I love making positive music for kids around my age to give them a great message.

YCG: What’s the most difficult thing about what you do?

WISABELLA: The most difficult thing about what I do is the performance because I have to think about how to interact with the crowd and use my stage. 

YCG: What’s your favourite genre of music?

WISABELLA: I love all genres of music but I’m very interested in R&B.

YCG: What’s your favourite song?

WISABELLA: Bruno Mars – “Just The Way You Are “

YCG: Who or what inspires you?

WISABELLA: Being able to make a positive impact on the kind of music that children my age listen to today is what really inspires me to keep going and make a change. 

YCG: What do you love most about your country?

WISABELLA: I love our diverse culture.

YCG: If you could change one thing about your country what would it be?

WISABELLA: If I can change one thing about my country would be the crime in today’s society.

YCG: What’s the name of the last book you read?

WISABELLA: Diary Of A Wimpy Kid.

YCG: When you’re not creating music what do you do for fun?

WISABELLA: When I’m not creating music I do acting, play the steel pan and try to learn about other skills for fun.

YCG: Do you ever struggle with stage fright? If yes, how do you overcome it?

YCG: Yes I do struggle with stage fright. I would say pray and ask God to make me own that stage and also taking deep breaths help also.

YCG: What’s one household chore that you absolutely hate to do?

WISABELLA: A fun fact about me, I love cleaning and doing chores but cleaning the bathroom probably is my least favourite chore to do.

YCG: What’s your favourite sport?

WISABELLA: Basketball 

YCG: What do you want to be when you grow up?

WISABELLA: I want to be an international superstar known for making positive music and also a Marine Biologist.
