Machel Montano is among the 34 artistes who have qualified for the semi-finals of the 30th anniversary BMobile Chutney Soca Monarch (CSM). The semi-finals, set for February 8 at La Tropical, Rig Compound in La Romaine, will feature defending champion Rick Ramoutar and a range of past winners, including nine-time champion Rikki Jai and Neval Chatelal, who is making a comeback after several years.

The event, organised by Southex, also includes new talents and notable returns, such as Chris Garcia, Veekash Sahadeo, and Hemlatha “Hurricane” Dindial. A total of eight female artistes and 26 male artistes will compete for a spot in the Grand Final, where the top female performer will be crowned ‘Queen of Chutney Soca.’

Last year’s winner, Rawytee Ramroop, will defend her title but must first qualify through the semi-finals. The full list of semi-finalists includes a mix of seasoned veterans and rising stars.

CSM 2025 is expected to deliver an electrifying night of performances, celebrating the vibrant culture of chutney soca and further solidifying the event’s global reputation.
