Anticipation is building as the countdown to Culturama 50 begins in earnest.

This year, visitors to the island are invited to live like locals while enjoying the festivities through its Homestay Initiative.

The Nevis Homestay program promises an immersive experience into the very heart of Nevisian culture and daily life.

This initiative, a joint effort by the Ministry of Tourism, the Nevis Tourism Authority, and the Culturama Secretariat was launched in response to increased demand for accommodation by visitors and returning nationals during the Culturama 50 period.

Authorities say this program is in keeping with the island’s sustainable tourism goals and the main objective is to boost its community-based tourism product.

Visitors to the island can participate in the homestay program through any one of three categories.

The True Nevisian Experience- renting a toom in a Nevisian home or other shared space.

Apartment or guesthouse.

Luxury Nevisian homes and villas.
