One Caribbean Music Festival Postponed to May 2025
The highly anticipated One Caribbean Music Festival, originally set for February 28, 2025, has been postponed to May 2025 due to unforeseen logistical challenges. Organizers cite a packed schedule of back-to-back events at the chosen venue during Carnival week, as well as the unavailability of major venues such as Hasely Crawford Stadium, as key factors in the decision.
“Rather than compromising on quality, we have made the difficult decision to move the festival to May 2025 so that we can deliver the vibrant, immersive festival atmosphere you expect and deserve,” organizers stated in a release.
Jamaican dancehall star, Vybz Kartel, was said to be the headline act at the festival. This was a source of contention for many, who took to social media to vent their frustration. “Carnival Friday, Fantastic Friday is sacred and should be treated as such,” one woman posted. “Respect Carnival the way Jamaicans respect all aspect of their own culture. I’m a Kartel fan but not in the middle of Carnival. Better than that!” This comment was endorsed by many others.

All previously purchased tickets will remain valid for the new festival date. As a gesture of appreciation for ticket holders’ patience and support, the festival team is offering several exclusive benefits, including:
- A chance to win VIP upgrades
- Access to limited-edition festival merchandise
- An opportunity to meet dancehall star Vybz Kartel
Patrons unable to attend the rescheduled event can request a refund through their original point of purchase. Those who made online purchases have been advised to email info@onecaribbeanmusicfestival.com for their refunds to be processed.
Individuals who made physical ticket purchases are asked to return to the original ticket outlet with their ticket/tickets in hand for processing.
Organizers strongly advise that all online ticket refund requests be handled directly through the festival’s official channels to avoid unnecessary processing delays or fees.
The festival team has also extended sincere apologies to international patrons and partners who had planned to travel for the event. “We truly appreciate your commitment and look forward to welcoming you in May 2025 for an even greater festival experience,” the statement added.
The One Caribbean Music Festival team says they remain dedicated to delivering an unforgettable celebration of Caribbean music and culture.
