Sound Master Kasey Phillips to Lead “Bring the Beat” Masterclass in Grenada
The Spice Island, Grenada, is about to resonate with new creative energy as internationally acclaimed music producer Kasey Phillips touches down to lead a transformative music production workshop, “Bring the Beat”, hosted by the Grenada Office of Creative Affairs (GOCA).
Kasey Phillips is no stranger to Caribbean airwaves. With a music career that began at just ten years old in his father’s studio in Trinidad and Tobago, Kasey has evolved into one of the region’s most sought-after producers. As founder and CEO of Precision Productions, he has been the driving force behind some of Soca music’s most iconic hits. His production catalog includes collaborations with genre giants such as Machel Montano, Bunji Garlin, Kes the Band, Voice, Patrice Roberts, and Kerwin DuBois — defining the sound of Carnival for an entire generation.
Yet Kasey’s reach extends far beyond Soca. He has proven his versatility across multiple genres — from Hip-Hop and R&B to Pop, Gospel, and even K-Pop. Most recently, he made waves on the international stage as a key contributor to Ciara’s 2023 EP “CiCi,” producing five of its seven tracks. Among them was the standout hit “How We Roll,” featuring Chris Brown — a track that has garnered more than 45 million streams on Spotify and earned RIAA Gold certification.
Speaking ahead of the workshop, Kasey noted:
“I’ve learned a lot of new and cutting-edge techniques over the last 5 years, and I’m looking forward to sharing them with the Grenadian producers and engineers.”
The Bring the Beat Masterclass marks Kasey’s first workshop since the Covid-19 pandemic and is part of GOCA’s Music Producers Project, which aims to elevate the music production capabilities in Grenada and empower a new generation of sonic innovators. The initiative also represents a larger cultural movement — to nurture homegrown talent while bridging the gap between regional creativity and international opportunities.
Kasey’s involvement is not only a testament to his commitment to the Caribbean music industry but also a signal of Grenada’s growing presence in the global creative economy. Over the years, he has shared stages and studio space with global icons and has been featured in international publications for his unique ability to blend Caribbean rhythm with contemporary trends.
For aspiring producers, musicians, and engineers, “Bring the Beat” isn’t just a workshop — it’s an invitation to learn from a master and to amplify Grenada’s voice on the world stage.
Grenada, get ready. The beat is about to drop.
